Speaker Ashraf congratulates China on start of lunar new year

ISLAMABAD: Raja Perwaiz Ashraf, Speaker of The National Assembly congratulated government and people of China how they called in lunar new year on Sunday with this is people pray for health after three years of stress and difficulties in a pandemic.

In his message, Ashraf expressed confidence that China will continue progress and develop through national traits of hard work and commitment.

The speaker expressed his confidence that Pakistani-Chinese friendship will not only allow both countries flourish and develop, but regional progress also depends on the inextricable ties between the two peoples.

He reported the successful completion of projects of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) have demonstrated readiness of both nations and their masses to cooperate for mutual benefit.

Vice Speaker Zahid Durrani also congratulated Beijing and expressed good wishes for in progress and prosperity of Chinese people.

lunar new year, also known as the Spring Festival, is a significant annual holiday in China, which is based on 12 characters of Chinese zodiac. This year this is year of in rabbit.

In connection with the pandemic celebrations in in past three years were limited. However, with weakening of Covid-19 restrictions, many people can now travel to their hometowns and reunite with their families without worrying about quarantine or travel restrictions.

Besides, public celebrations are back on larger scale than before year, with many cultural events taking place in capital.
