ISLAMABAD: Special Advisor to the President of Ghana on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and interaction for COMSATS affairs Dr. Eugene Owusu and COMSATS Executive Director, Ambassador Dr. M. Nafis Zakaria exchanged views on Regional Leaders in Science, Technology and Innovation (ST&I) development.

Ambassador Nafis briefed Dr. Owusu on various ideas and initiatives he planned future well of action. He told the adviser on Exodus of 24th meeting of COMSATS Coordinating Council [comprising heads of International Centres of Excellence affiliated with COMSATS Network] in Karachi, Pakistan.
Both stressed that the expertise of centers of Superiority must be used to the fullest. They agreed that an R&D fund was needed to support talent in member states.
Dr. Owusu appreciated the ideas shared by the Executive Director and considered them to be correct. on for using common operations of COMSATS as an intergovernmental organization focused on sustainable development ST&I progress.
They agreed that the Executive Director could visit Ghana, in in particular, and other Member States to inform on his plans members of Commission. The adviser said that the idea of holding a meeting of the Commission during current year with The Accra Forum meeting, which was held nearby, was welcome.
They expressed strong resolve in we cooperate closely in for strategic planning and mobilization of scientific and technological resources for transformational development.
